Alaska is a wild place and a true adventure. Wildlife is abundant, it’s pretty remote, the conditions are tough. I love it… and I don’t love it.

Denali National Park (2010, 2017)

cross-country hiking, no trails in the backcountry
a great place to get a glimpse of the Alaskan wilderness
you might see grizzly bears, caribou, moose, wolves and dall sheep on the same day
hiked two weeklong trips in different areas of the park
would love to go back some day

Chugach State Park (2017)

Hiked from Ship Creek via Moraine Pass Trail and Crow Pass Trail to Girdwood TH. Got caught in a snowstorm. Great area just outside of Anchorage.

Resurrection Trail (2010)

115km (72 mi) hike from Seward to Hope
pretty overgrown and not really scenic. Not really worth it.
