Yukon & Jasper

I spent summer in Canada in 2010 on my way down from Alaska to NYC. The people were super nice, the weather was pretty good. I used the Alaskan Marine Highway to get from Yukon to BC/Alberta.
Canada never disappoints.
My Great Divide Trail in 2022 was a fabulous experience as well.

Wolves in Jasper National Park

  • 320km (200mi) canoeing from Whitehorse to Carmacks
  • self guided, used a local outfitter
  • a highly welcomed change to backpacking
Wolves on Snake Indian Pass (Jasper National Park)
  • 159km North Boundary Trail
  • Berg Lake Trail (Mt. Robson Provincial Park) is part of the route
  • it’s a (more or less) maintained trail. North part of the park seemed pretty remote in contrast to some famous trails south of Jasper town.
  • lots of wildlife (elk, bears, wolves) and pretty remote

Parks Canada has some information on the trail and on the park.

  • 85km Cottonwood Trail
  • wildlife, lakes, alpine tundra, grassy meadows
  • a nice little hike

Parks Canada has some information on the trail and on the park.
